Memory
These two cardboard pieces are the remnants of my home’s present and past—a personal recording of the moving process infused with a mix of memory. The cardboard, the labeling stickers, and the bubble wrap were all collected from the moving company’s packaging.

By remixing compositions and textures, these overlooked materials recreate the moving process through their physical connection to the packaging. The resulting effect is chaotic and uncertain—much like the nature of moving itself.
The highlight of the piece is the labeling stickers, gathered from various boxes containing different household items. The handwriting on these stickers creates vivid yet ambiguous images that vary from viewer to viewer. This transforms the work into a shared yet personal experience, grounded in the universal context of common furniture and household goods.
Memory 2

I attempted to capture and present concepts that are less vivid and require more imagination. The figures depict the memory and ‘capacity’ of home, referenced from old photos of parents’ friends visiting. Furthermore, the semi-realistic turtle dove recreates the ‘voices’ of home; the song those birds sing in the early morning is one of my core memories and a distinct identifier of home.
