Memory 3

Acrylic on wooden board, 2024

82×56cm

Painting of an old picture of the artist and his brother in the old home in Taipei. The painting adapts impressionistic colors same as to the lighting scheme of home and the tone that was vividly memorized, the gestures and the accessories worn by the two represents the nostalgic and pure side of memory, cropped ‘sections’ of colors, and the intentionally blurred face is the depiction of time and memory actively fading from the mind. A glimpse into the past that is joyful yet irreversible, the painting depicts the beauty that cannot be found elsewhere.

The concept and technique of depicting fading memory is later adopted in the painting ‘home’, to finalize the series.
